As global demand for high‑reliability electronics manufacturing continues to increase, Kitron US is strengthening its position through targeted investments in advanced manufacturing technology, compliance, and sustainability.
These efforts expand the company’s capabilities and capacity, enhance operational efficiency, and reinforce its commitment to delivering scalable, future‑ready production solutions. By combining technological innovation with responsible practices, Kitron US enables customers to meet evolving market demands with confidence and reliability.
A New SMT Production Line
At the heart of Kitron US's recent strategic investments is the installation of a new, advanced SMT production line — one of the most significant manufacturing developments the site has undertaken. It significantly expands the site's manufacturing capability and strengthens its ability to support high-mix, high-reliability electronics production with greater speed, flexibility, and process control.
Stretching 98 feet in length, the line integrates best-in-class equipment across the entire SMT process, including high-speed Fuji AIMEX III pick‑and‑place systems, advanced solder paste printing via the MPM Momentum II platform, intelligent 3D SPI and AOI inspection systems from Parmi, and advanced X‑ray inspection from Saki as a key element of the line’s quality assurance capabilities.
The four dual‑robot Fuji AIMEX III pick‑and‑place machines provide full component-level traceability, while the Saki 3Xi-M110 AXI system represents a strategic investment in advanced inspection technology, enabling volumetric analysis and 3D reconstruction of solder joints and detecting hidden defects critical to high-reliability assemblies. Closed-loop inspection feedback, network-controlled material handling, and configurable optical resolution help balance precision and throughput while reducing changeover time.

Strengthening Trust
Technological investments are only as strong as the information security infrastructure that supports them. Kitron US has successfully achieved ISO 27001 certification at its Windber site, joining a network of ISO 27001‑certified Kitron facilities worldwide. This internationally recognized standard for information security management reinforces our ability to protect sensitive data and meet the rigorous requirements of our customers.
The certification aligns directly with Kitron US's ongoing efforts to achieve CMMC 2.0 compliance in 2026 and supports its position as a key supplier to US government prime contractors.
Rethinking Water Conservation
In parallel with the technological and security developments, Kitron US has taken a meaningful step in its sustainability journey with the installation of a REsys Titan water treatment system, further strengthening its commitment to ISO 14001.
The system delivers industrial-grade water purification, combining particulate filtration, reverse osmosis, and ion exchange technologies, along with closed-loop recovery capabilities. This enables the production of high-purity water for the removal of solder residues while significantly reducing environmental impact.
The results are impressive — water consumption is reduced by more than 80%, and over 90% of the costs associated with the previous DI system are eliminated, delivering a return on investment in approximately four months. In addition, the system is expected to generate savings of over $40,000 per month, with further benefits as operations continue to grow.
Looking Ahead
Together, these investments reflect Kitron US’s commitment to delivering high‑quality, reliable, and future‑ready solutions. By continuously strengthening our manufacturing capabilities, reinforcing trust through compliance, and advancing sustainable operations, we are building a solid foundation for long‑term growth — both for our business and for our customers.
