Kitron Voices: Stories from Women in Engineering

20 June 2025 We are Kitron

On this International Women in Engineering Day, we’re proud to highlight the voices of women engineers from across the Kitron Group.

In this blog, you'll find inspiring stories and reflections from women in various roles at different Kitron sites. They share what drives them, how they’ve grown, and why engineering continues to be a field full of opportunity, challenge, and purpose.

We celebrate their contributions and hope their experiences inspire others to explore the world of engineering.

Hamsadhvani

Hamsadhvani, Component Engineer, Kitron India

“From a young age, I was endlessly curious about how things worked, whether electronic gadgets, machines, or everyday devices. That curiosity became a passion, and I was drawn to the challenge of understanding systems and improving them.

With great enthusiasm and high expectations, I joined Kitron as a Component Engineer. It has been a fulfilling time filled with learning, collaboration, and new experiences. I’m truly enjoying the journey so far and look forward to contributing further as I continue to grow with the team.”

Vestina

Vestina, Configuration Engineer, Kitron Lithuania

“I never imagined myself working in an electronics company, especially not in this field. But after joining in 2015 to work with SMT preparation, then moving on to electromechanical assembly, I saw how supportive the company was and how my colleagues were growing in their roles. That inspired me too. A few years later, I became a technical documentation engineer.

I’ve learned that this company truly opens doors for those wanting to build a career. You get real support, advice, and training, not just from HR, but from colleagues who genuinely welcome and guide new team members.”

Ingeborg Kathrine

“Engineers at Kitron are given a broad scope of responsibilities and the freedom to make a real impact. The work is dynamic. You will collaborate with colleagues from different departments, suppliers, and customers.

While the engineering team has historically been male-dominated, many women have joined in recent years and are enjoying technical roles. I believe Kitron is a place where everyone, regardless of gender, has the opportunity to grow and succeed.”

Maibrit

Maibrit, Product Engineer, Kitron Denmark

“I started as a production employee over 30 years ago and later moved to the documentation department. After 14 years, I was offered the chance to become a Product Engineer. Though I had doubts about handling customer needs, the support from colleagues and my manager gave me the confidence to take on the role.

The interaction between customers and production made every day exciting and sometimes challenging. Today, 11 years later, I’m still proud to be a Product Engineer.”

Amanda

Amanda, Senior Product Engineer, Kitron Sweden

“What inspired me to pursue engineering is my natural curiosity about how things work and a desire to improve them. I believe diversity in engineering teams is vital because it brings fresh perspectives, and women play a key role in shaping the future of the field.

As an engineer at Kitron, I have a broad area of responsibility with a mix of problem solving and routine tasks. There are a lot of things going on, so you never get bored. I’ve learned so much here and continue to grow every day, thanks to the expertise and support of senior colleagues who openly share their knowledge.”

Caroline

Caroline, Program Engineer, Kitron China

“I’ve experienced Kitron as a place that truly encourages new ideas, embraces diversity, and offers equal opportunities for growth. Taking on responsibilities like sharing a Key Account Manager’s workload has helped me grow quickly and expand my horizons.

Engineering inspires me because it feels like constantly exploring the world. I believe more women will play vital roles in engineering, encouraging future generations to follow in their footsteps.”

Martina

Martina, PE Administrative Support, Kitron Czech

“Technology has been a part of my life since childhood. My father works as a toolmaker, and thanks to him, I developed a strong interest in technical thinking. We often discussed technical drawings and the possibilities of manufacturing components, which inspired me to study mechanical technical administration.

With a technical background in the family and a personal passion for engineering, I soon realized that I had chosen a field that truly excites and fulfils me. This interest has stayed with me and continues to motivate me to grow professionally in the technical field.”

Anna

Anna, Senior Quality Engineer, Kitron Poland

“I attended a job fair during my master’s studies and spoke with HR representatives who encouraged me to apply for a position in the Quality Department, so I did. I started as an intern, and right away, I saw that the role of a Quality Engineer was a lot like being an investigator, which I really liked.

The time when gender defined your career path is over. Today, what truly matters is knowledge, commitment, and drive. More and more companies recognize this and are hiring talented, experienced women, especially in engineering, where many are actively pursuing ambitious career goals.”
