The latest solution introduced by Kitron Lithuania professionals is an Automated Glueing System, which provides a high-quality and efficient alternative to manual labour in the glueing process. Glueing is crucial for assembling and securing components on printed circuit boards (PCBs), providing structural integrity and reliability of electronics products.
How does it work?
The Automated Glueing System is equipped with an in-house-developed trolley drawer lifter and a collaborative robot glueing cell. The operator only needs to insert a trolley filled with products into the lifter while the system takes care of the rest.
Inside the system, a collaborative robot uses machine vision to measure the tilt and angle of a product and its components. This quickly reduces the number of variables to determine the correct coordinates and amount of glue needed.
Once the glueing is finished, the trolley drawers are automatically reinserted, making it easy to move to the next step in the process.
Flexibility and high-quality
The Automated Glueing System ensures consistent product quality for each production run and significantly reduces the time it would take for an operator to manually apply glue correctly.
In addition to minimal human touch, the Automated Glueing System requires low maintenance and is very flexible in terms of adjustments for different products. Because of the automatic tool changer installed in the system, it could be utilized for different products by adjusting to the specific requirements and types of glue specified by customers.
Moreover, we use 3D printing to create ESD safe fixtures that securely hold products in the system while glueing. This not only enhances repeatability and quality but also simplifies the overall process and product handling.
