This September marks a special milestone – Kitron Denmark, which began as BB Electronics in Horsens, celebrates its 50th anniversary. It has grown from a small team of a few people to being part of a global EMS today.
A Look Back at Our History
The company was established in 1975, originally as BB Electronics, by Bjarne Skovbøl and Bent Hede. With just a handful of employees and a small production setup, the company steadily grew.
The company has always been in Horsens, though in different premises, and has operated from its current location for the past nearly 30 years. In its early years, the company primarily served Danish customers, but over time, it expanded its reach to international markets. A new factory was established in Horsens in 1999 to support this growth.

The global journey expanded further with a manufacturing facility in Suzhou, China, and later an acquisition in Lanškroun, Czech Republic. Eventually, BB Electronics came under foreign ownership and proudly became part of the Kitron Group in 2022.
Experts in EMS
Today, Kitron Denmark is known for its high-quality services, expertise in complex, high-mix, and low-volume production, and fully automated processes in parts of the production line.
With 7,700 square meters of manufacturing space and three SMT lines, we serve global customers in the Connectivity, Electrification, Industry, Medical Devices and Defence/Aerospace sectors.

Investments Over Time
Continuous investment in technology has been one of the drivers behind our success throughout our history. From expanding production capacity to implementing automation, every step has been about meeting customer expectations and preparing for the future.
Most recently, the Horsens facility added brand new flying probe equipment and new upgraded SMT lines. Our latest investments in advanced testing capabilities and equipment upgrades are designed to make Kitron Denmark even more competitive.
